Love Sea urchin. Sophisticated Japanese food for adults

Curiously enough, as I grew up, I began to like sea urchin. I think most of Japanese people could not eat sea-urchin when they were child.

To me it is like foie-gras of the world’s top three delicacies. Actually sea-urchin, dried mullet roe and salted entrails of sea cucumbers are called the three major Japanese delicacies.

These are variety of sea-urchin cooked that I have eaten so far.

Sushi(row sea urchin)

Don(steamed sea urchin)

Miso soup that sea urchin in it

Pudding that row sea urchin on it

Unigiri.A coined word, it is created from a combination of Uni and Onigiri.

Uni means sea urchin and Onigiri means rice ball.
